First off, retirement in sports (especially boxing) is very relative...
Although I dislike some of the things Floyd stands for--we all have to say that Mayweather is a very good fighter.
Greatness is a matter of opinion...Jim Brown retired extremely early, Barry Sanders did too...but does that make them any less great???
In some people's eyes tenure is an important factor in evaluating greatness...some other people view greatness on what is achieved. It's hard to argue that his execution has been nothing less than flawless.
I think that as boxing fans we would all love to see the match ups that you spoke of, but one of the special things about early retirements in sports is that those debates and rebuttals can be in conversations with our children and grand children.
All of us our selfish fans--we want to see all of our questions answered...I would love to see him come back and bring some excitement to the sport.

First off do not hate the man because he is a genetic freak, as you put it, that only puts him in a higher physical category then all of the genetic freaks who he competes against. Any athlete that competes on a high level is a genetic freak on some level. His natural abilities should not discredit his dare I say “impregnable” defense, and diligent work effort..
His endurance is a asset, not a fight or flight character trait, we’ve seen countless boxers on the cusp of greatness or immortality even, only to be deferred from glory by lack of stamina.. If your defense is great, your extremely quick, and you have great ring mobility why not use it to your advantage?.

You make a great point about all of the fighters Floyd has “avoided” by leaving at least 3 ( 2 potential Mega) fights on the table. But the main question I would ask is why?
He’s already rich, he’s already left the game undefeated, what does he haft to gain by coming back?

Floyd coming out of reterment only benefits us the true fight fans. YES I would love to see a Pac Man Floyd fight….I would pay a $100 to see that real talk, but what would he really gain If he won? More fans clamoring that he fight another top oppent, many of whom openly or secretly wishing he would loose.
